Job Description
The Attendance Intervention Specialist will join the HCPS Student Intervention Specialist, school social workers and counselors to ensure the identification, attendance, and academic success of students experiencing chronic absenteeism. This individual will help students and families improve school performance and attendance, function more effectively in difficult social or emotional situations, and access community resources.
Job Summary
The Attendance Intervention Specialist will play a crucial role in improving student attendance rates across Henderson County Public Schools. This position is responsible for implementing strategies and interventions to address attendance issues, collaborating with students, families, and school staff to promote regular school attendance, and monitoring and analyzing attendance data to identify trends and areas for improvement. The Attendance Intervention Specialist will work closely with school administrators, counselors, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective attendance improvement plans.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement attendance improvement strategies.
- Monitor and analyze attendance data.
- Provide training and support to school staff.
- Collaborate with community partners.
- Evaluate and report on attendance improvement initiatives.
- Traveling across the school district to complete home visits and interact with students, staff and families in schools, shelters, motels and other locations.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field Experience working with students and families in an educational or social service setting.
- Knowledge of attendance policies, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with community resources and support services.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Education and Credentials
Bachelor's degree required in Human Services, Education, Social Work, Counseling, or other related fields.
