This is a remote, work-from-home position. We will consider applicants that reside in the following states: AL, AZ, CA, OR, NY, FL, GA, PA, ID, IN, TX, MD, TN, MO, SC, MT, SC, and Utah.

Pay Range: $130k – $180k annually DOE

Position Summary of the Associate Vice President of Admissions
:

The AVP of Admissions manages the day-to-day operations of the Admissions Department and is the direct supervisor for all Associate Director of Admissions (ADOA) personnel. Their time will focus on daily operations, training, coaching, performance management, mentoring and process improvement. Additionally, time will be invested in data analysis for proper strategic planning to meet assigned admissions department goals. Therefore, the AVP of Admissions must possess strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills; as well as the ability to effectively train and inspire the admissions team.

Responsible for the overall success of the Admissions Department, the AVP Admissions will ensure that admissions policies and procedures are followed. Furthermore, they will align the admissions team for positive student outcomes.


Responsibilities of the Associate Vice President of Admissions
:

STUDENT SUCCESS:

  • New Student Growth Metrics are met or exceeded.
  • Applicants are educated and equipped with the knowledge to be successful BU students and alumni.
  • Students are prepared with appropriate technology to succeed in an online environment.
  • Applicants are treated with fairness, respect, impartiality, and objectivity while abiding by all accreditation/compliance rules and regulations.
  • Employees are inspired to reach their highest level of excellence through developing positive relationships that are professional, trustworthy and results centered.
  • Collaboration is effectively utilized within departments as well as interdepartmental producing high-quality deliverables and effective decision making.
  • ADOA’s and Team Leads are developed to fill future growth positions. This is demonstrated through documented training and coaching.
  • Admissions Advisor Tenure performance standards show demonstrated improvement and efficiency through improved performance on a per admissions rep basis.
  • Admissions representatives are adequately trained upon hire and receive ongoing professional development and proactive coaching.


ADMINISTRATIVE:

  • Meetings are organized and facilitated weekly.
  • Monthly goals are set for the Admissions department.
  • Admissions budgets are met or exceeded.
  • Clear, well-written communication inter-and intra-departmentally.
  • Appropriate staffing levels are maintained, and turnover is minimized to 20% or below.
  • Timely attendance and adherence to all company policies.


ORGANIZATIONAL:

  • A positive, student-focused work environment is achieved amongst all departments.
  • The applicant expectations are set consistently along with effective communication between financial aid, student outreach, and other admissions support departments ensuring a smooth admission process.
  • Interdepartmental activities are effectively coordinated through collaboration with peers and associates.


General Duties


  • Participate in the development of Admissions department strategy and planning and translate strategy into tactical execution and operational implementation.
  • Generate, analyze, and evaluate all necessary reports and enrollment data to ensure team goals and objectives are achieved. Based upon analysis, make appropriate recommendations when necessary.
  • In coordination with the Vice President of Admissions and the Director of Admissions Talent Development, lead the training, development and coordination of ADOA/Admissions representatives and all admissions department activities to ensure the team has the skills and ability to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Manage team performance, which includes delivering consistent quality feedback, providing reinforcement and recognition when appropriate, taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Manage team performance, which includes effective lead management strategies, goal setting, and exceeding monthly start objectives.
  • Demonstrate proficiency and ensure proper use of all systems, tools, and resources by the admissions team.
  • Manage the admissions office to appropriate staffing levels. Ensure quality hires and manage compensation of the team within established levels. Resolve complex enrollment questions and problems and train ADOA’s to do the same.
  • Ensure students are provided excellent customer service and are prepared to begin school.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and competitive offerings, costs and benefits and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Follow all local, state, federal and BU guidelines as they apply to student admissions.
  • Complete leadership stretch assignments, training courses and development activities to improve leadership skills.
  • Run weekly tactical meetings utilizing the 90io operating system and ensure that all ADOA’s are proficient in using the system.
  • Be the go-to person for solving complex issues that require cross functional collaboration with other departments.


Requirements of the Associate Vice President of Admissions
:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 10 years minimum combined work experience in business, customer service, education or sales management that includes a minimum of 5 years in management positions.
  • Experience in managing high performing teams with varied responsibilities preferred.
  • Highly proficient computer skills and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated effective analytical skills and goal setting.
  • Proven results in achieving company objectives and goals.
  • High Emotional Intelligence and strong relationship building skills.
  • Exemplary Leadership and Motivational skills.
  • Ability to work in a virtual environment using multiple software technologies.
  • Ability to sit for six to eight hours.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule at least 40 hours per week.
