Associate Vice President of Enrollment Services

 

Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, in partnership with the national search firm Scott Healy & Associates, invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Vice President of Enrollment Services. The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Enrollment Services has leadership and managerial oversight and responsibility for Enrollment Services functions, including the Offices of Admissions, Registrar and Student Financial Aid. The AVP of Enrollment Services directly supervises the Director of Admissions, the Registrar, and the Director of Financial Aid, and reports directly to the President.

 

The AVP of Enrollment Services will provide leadership, direction, and coordination of all aspects of Enrollment Services within the context of the College’s strategic plan. The AVP will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures and for ensuring full compliance with all standards for all areas that report to them. The College has been awarded the highest level of accreditation: 10-year distinction of Accreditation with Exceptional Outcome by the American Osteopathic Associate Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditations (COCA). This position will also oversee Enrollment Services for all future health science degree programs as part of the College’s strategic growth plan to expand into a health sciences university as part of its process to become institutionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The College has received Candidate Status with HLC.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective and efficient delivery of Enrollment Services in line with institutional goals, college policies, and professional standards.
  • Oversee the administration of and coordination among the offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Registrar, and between these offices and students, faculty, staff, and external parties including the military, scholarship entities, and the community.
  • Participate actively in the development and implementation of College-level student recruitment and retention goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for Enrollment Services, including both recruitment and enrollment of students.  Ensure that underlying plans for the Offices of Admissions, Registrar, and Financial Aid are aligned and integrated as necessary with other departments.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of marketing plans.
  • Deliver exemplary, responsive service to both applicants and enrolled students; ensure that all communication with both applicants and students meets both internal and external requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure that institutional financial aid resources meet the needs of both new and continuing students and comply fully with external requirements including Title IV.
  • Ensure that all assigned operations, policies, and processes conform to governmental requirements, and the standards set forth by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) and other accreditation or regulatory bodies.
  • Generate data and interpret statistical reports; monitor admissions and enrollment activity with the responsibility for achieving key metrics as identified by executive administration; provide operational reports and analyses as required.
  • Develop and monitor budgets within department.
  • Additional responsibilities assigned at the discretion of the President.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related discipline; EdD, PhD or other terminal degree preferred.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in delivery of higher education administrative Enrollment Services, with direct experience in admissions and experience in a Title IV institution highly preferred.
  • Three (3) years' higher education Enrollment Services supervisory experience, demonstrating accomplishment in leadership roles.
  • Data-driven with a strong emphasis and proven results in increasing student enrollment.
  • Working knowledge of Title IV, FERPA, Title IX, Clery, and ADA requirements, with the ability to work in a complex, fast-paced environment with multiple competing tasks and time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in participating on and/or leading student admissions committees.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse students, faculty and staff.
  • Experience in the above areas obtained in a medical school or proprietary school setting is preferred.
