The Associate Scientist will be working within the Drug Product Development group will work independently and in conjunction with the development teams to support project needs within the cell therapy group. The candidate will assist in experiment design and work with lab instruments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs assigned scientific experiments with decreasing level of supervisor‘s assistance.
- Provides input and identifies problems with scientific experiments, analyses/tasks in related areas.
- Maintains current laboratory equipment and operates analytical and other instruments.
- Assists in developing recommendations for improving standard procedures
- Maintains accurate record keeping and experimental data with the use of statistical packages and standard databases
- Draft technical reports and contribute to information management, manuscripts, patent applications, etc.
- Communicate results to supervisor in a timely manner
- Supports the work of project members to accomplish team objectives on time and within budget
- May place orders in purchasing systems or maintain supplies to proactively support projects
Qualifications
Education:
- Minimum of a B.S./B.A. with 2 years of experience, performing progressively advanced duties at the Associate Scientist I level, or the equivalent training/experience is required. Master's Degree with 1 year of experience is preferred.
Experience and Skills:
- Attends in-house seminars and local/regional scientific meetings in own field
- Presents own work to members of department or external consultants as needed
- Experience with sterile techniques are required.
- Experience with cell culture is preferred.
- Experience working with cell-based instruments is preferred.
