What you will do

Amgen is seeking a motivated and collaborative team member with biotech experience to join the Translational Safety and Bioanalytical Sciences group at the Amgen Thousand Oaks site. This group is responsible for laboratory operations supporting three bioanalytical sciences labs. These labs develop methods to support the analysis of biological samples from early discovery programs through late-stage clinical programs. The team member will primarily support the bioanalytical laboratories and contribute to maintain equipment, compliance, and workflows while working in cross-functional teams.
In this vital role, you will facilitate equipment management, data quality, integrity, and compliance. Responsibilities include working with cross-functional departments and supporting the bioanalytical labs. This includes the lifecycle of equipment from inception, standard operating procedures, validation, maintenance, and overall knowledge of the software and systems.
Submit the necessary Maximo work order(s) for the facility and equipment.
Communicate equipment calibration schedules with lab staff.
Maintain and manage user access, periodic reviews, and LMS training requirements.
Manage the lifecycle for temperature-controlled environment equipment within the labs.
Monitor temperature excursions in the Critical Monitoring Management System (CEMS).
Partner with laboratory staff to provide operational support.
Assist with the QC review of ELN experiments, reports for method validation, preclinical GLP, non-GLP, clinical, and SEND reporting to ensure quality data and integrity.
Responsible for general maintenance, effective troubleshooting, and the lifecycle of standard laboratory equipment.
Support processes using multiple databases (e.g., CDOCs, RIM, Maximo, BioLIMS, Watson LIMS, CEMS, LMS, and ELN).
Support safety initiatives and department goals.
Presenting at functional and cross-functional meetings.
Train staff and/or assist in supervising others.
Coordinates and organizes the resources needed to complete the task.
Contribute to technology development initiatives.
Follow and author SOPs for equipment and processes supporting bioanalytical labs.
Follow with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCP) Regulations.
Assist with computer-related system validation tasks and archival.
Participate in internal/external process audits and FDA inspections.

Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree and 1 year of related laboratory support experience, OR
Bachelor's degree and 3 years of related laboratory support experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to solve complex technical problems and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail.
Knowledge of MS Office tools, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook
Knowledge of regulatory (GLP and GCP) and pharmaceutical processes is recommended.
