WellSky is seeking an Associate Reimbursement Coordinator for our Hospice team! This individual will be responsible for performing billing and collections for our Hospice and Palliative clients while mastering the software platform that your client(s) uses. As an ARC you will coordinate a high volume of claims activity across multiple systems and agencies. This is a wonderful opportunity on a growing team! A day in the life!
You will be responsible for the following:
- Developing knowledge for billing systems and clearinghouses for electronic billing
- Obtaining bill information in the client’s software and generating monthly claims
- Submitting claims to insurance companies in a timely fashion and within the individual insurance company’s timely filing period
- Preparing and/or printing all secondary claims that do not automatically cross over from Medicare or other primary payer
- Following up on patient balances within established timeframes
- Obtaining claim’s status by calling the payer and/or using an online payer portal
- Utilizing reports to determine tasks that require follow up
- Taking appropriate action for escalating claims not paid within 60 days or for denied appeals
- Preparing write-off requests when bad debt is identified. Documenting the reason for the write-off
- Researching claim payments, partial payments, over payments
- Preparing weekly cash collection report and submitting it to client
- Coordinating sequential billing with other hospices via phone
- Establishing and maintaining business relationships via telephone and email contact
- Hosting a monthly call with each client to review open AR and financial reports
- Coordinating a high volume of claims activity across multiple systems/agencies
