Associate Patient Research Manager
This position is based in East Hanover, NJ or Cambridge, MA and will not have the ability to be located remotely.
LI-HybridAbout the role:
As a Patient Research Manager you will contribute to efforts in Biomedical Research (BR) in early patient engagement for both Early Patient Insights (EPI) and Patient Insights & Experience (PIE) teams.
In addition, you will provide operational excellence to derive insights from patients about disease for research teams, clinical teams and other Novartis stakeholders.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Reviews the BR portfolio periodically to assess disease indications for Patient Research
- Assists portfolio coordination in EPI and PIE (i.e. tracking shared projects / indications)
- Supports/leads operational aspects of patient engagement activities including patient speakers
- Compliance to Novartis Policy and SOPs including documentation of compliance
- Maintains/archives records for activity including output, compliance and interaction with vendors as appropriate
- Direct support of patient engagement (PE) personnel in the execution of PE activities
- Initiate, track, collect and maintain all documentation for PE activities.
- Coordinates PE activities within Novartis, Global Business Solutions (GBS) and vendors under supervision of a PE lead
- Manages multiple projects to collect information from patients about their disease/condition and to gather patient input into clinical trial design and treatment goals via social media listening, online bulletin boards, online surveys, online patient panels, deskside research, etc.
- Prepare reports of patient insights for PIE/EPI clinical teams, management and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinates and reviews early portfolio activities (Research/Social media listening, etc.) with early insight leads
- Develop expertise in portfolio database tools and visualization methodologies including Workbench, Sense, Andromeda
- Maintain knowledge in specific areas of responsibility: e.g. patient speakers, videos, Patient Oriented Programs

Role Requirements
Essential Requirements:
Education :
Bachelor or Masters degree in life sciences /healthcare or business administration.
Languages:
Fluent English (oral and written)
Experience:
- 12 years prior experience with patient engagement strategy, data collection or insights required; within a pharma setting preferred.
- Patient research experience using social media, online surveys or other market research methods in a pharma setting preferred
- Solid understanding of drug development process required. Some clinical operations or clinical research experience a plus.
- Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice requirements preferred.
- Familiarity with patientrelated compliance mechanisms such as adverse event reporting or industry principles with patient interactions.
- Demonstrated quality mindset
- Good communication, team work, customer service skills,proven problem solving skills and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, multi task and manage time appropriately
- Experience with Microsoft software: Sharepoint, Teams, Excel, Powerpoint.

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary:
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $112,800 - $169,200/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period.
Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (incl
