Job description

Position OverviewThe University of Kansas Center for Community Health and Development supports community health and development through collaborative research and evaluation, teaching and training, and technical support and capacity building. Our Center is home of the Community Tool Box, a global resource for community change and improvement used by more than 5 million people each year.
Our Center seeks a full-time Research Project Manager to support training and technical support for community health and development initiatives, facilitate community assessments and other improvement processes, and manage research and evaluation projects.
Job Description
40% Project Support and Leadership
  • Oversee and support implementation of research, training, assessment, planning, and evaluation projects.
  • Provide leadership developing and managing projects.
  • Consult with staff and team leadership and prepare reports and other products.
  • Oversee project data collection and synthesis.
  • Manage client/ partner relations.
  • Coordinate staff efforts related to associated projects.
  • Convene and facilitate team meetings.
  • Administer and shepherd grant/ contract activities.

30% - Community Partner Training
  • Provide training, consultation, and technical assistance to community partners working to improve community health and development.
  • Develop and customize training materials and other supports and products.

20% - Community Tool Box Support
  • Support updates and development to the Community Tool Box website and training curriculum, including updating content and creating new examples.
  • Support training and quality assurance procedures for evaluation projects and the support provided to partners who enter data in the Community Check Box Evaluation System (https://checkbox.ctb.ku.edu/).

10% - Documentation of Research
  • Write or co-author research and evaluation reports, manuscripts, and other technical reports/publications and presentations relevant to the KU Center for Community Health and Development’s projects. Support creation of grant application materials.

Required Qualifications
  1. Master's degree in public health, community psychology, community health and development, behavioral science, or related field.
  2. Three years experience with community-based coalitions, initiatives, or community change efforts as evidenced by application materials.
  3. One year experience with research or evaluation, with initiatives related to community health and development or related field.
  4. Two years experience with project management.
  5. Experience providing training and technical assistance.
  6. Excellent communication skills as demonstrated by application materials.
  7. Experience executing projects while working in a team environment as demonstrated by application materials.
  8. Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and other relevant software as evidenced by application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
    Ph.D. in public health, behavioral science, community psychology, community health and development, or related field.Experience providing training and technical assistance to community initiatives.Experience with the Community Tool Box.Experience using data systems for data management and quality assurance, such as the Community Check Box Evaluation System.
