A&P Maintenance Technician
The Contract A&P Technician’s may work independently or as a team member performing inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance on JGI client aircraft. This position can be located anywhere in the USA on a contract, contract for hire or full-time placement.
Basic Duties and Qualifications:
- Inspect, troubleshoot and repair airframe and powerplant components and systems
- Document work per company procedures, policies and Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Perform minor maintenance on ground support equipment as needed.
- Comply with scheduled and unscheduled inspections/repairs.
- Perform maintenance checks, pre-flight, post-flight, service checks and non-routine maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems, engine, electrical and avionics malfunctions.
- Properly execute maintenance work records.
- Participate in shift meetings and briefings as required.
- Adhere to material handling and control procedures specified in company manuals and by the equipment manufactures.
- Perform aircraft run-ups and taxis.
- Clean aircraft after completing maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform work within estimated hours.
- Follow all safety procedures and specifications.
- Complete all required paperwork in connection with assigned normal duties.
- Tow aircraft as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Must hold a valid FAA Aircraft Mechanic certificate with Airframe & Powerplant Ratings
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be eligible to work in the USA
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English and be able to communicate effectively with other employees.
- The successful applicant must demonstrate excellent technical and communication skills
- Positive disposition, professional attitude, professional appearance
- Ability to obtain airport access badge
- Successful completion of pre-employment required DOT drug screening and other required background checks.
Experience and Additional Requirements:
- 3 - 5 years maintenance experience
- Knowledge of Federal Air Regulations
- Engine shops experience is a plus
- Ability to work any shift, schedule, or overtime as needed.
- Must be willing and able to travel if necessary
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks
- Must be goal oriented, have an exceptional attention to detail and must work well in team situations.
