The State Initiatives Division is seeking a full-time Associate Operations Specialist to work under the deputy division director in close coordination with CSG Justice Center operations staff to ensure compliance with overall CSG Justice Center operational policies and division administrative activities. The specialist will also support division activities, prepare administrative reports for submission to funding organizations, and provide assistance to state and local governments that have received grants from the U.S. Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Assistance and other funders as appropriate.
What you'll do:
Specific responsibilities of the Associate Operations Specialist include the following:
- Assist operations staff in supporting the division's internal operations, including but not limited to deliverable tracking, funder reporting, hiring and onboarding, and file management.
- Assist operations and division staff, senior managers, and staff across the organization to develop, implement, and maintain effective operations protocols.
- Contribute to internal guidance documents, including memos, checklists, presentations, or other materials that concisely and clearly describe complex processes.
- Based on experience assisting division staff to identify training and support needs, support the development and procurement of trainings as needed to project staff.
- Participate actively in staff discussions and budget planning meetings.
- In addition to operations tasks, participate or directly support policy work as needed.
- Work with project leaders to initiate and launch projects internally.
- Ensure that senior staff (and, where applicable, CSG Justice Center colleagues and consultants) are aware of relevant reporting deadlines and work with colleagues and consultants to meet related deadlines.
- Support proposal submissions for new funding by coordinating and maintaining submission files.
- Provide logistics support to organize meetings and large events.
- Other operational duties as assigned.
What you'll bring:

- At least one year of work experience or educational equivalency in the fields related to criminal justice, nonprofit administration, and/or operations
- Ability to contribute to and execute new and existing operational processes with team members in support of the division's overall strategic direction and work
- Ability to solicit, facilitate, and lead new project ideas from team members in support of the division's overall strategic direction with operations.
- Willingness to travel to support technical assistance activities and strategic planning discussions around operations
- Ability to work remotely with autonomy, understand technology, and effectively communicate across platforms
- Reliable and secure internet/data connection and flexibility for using a personal device for internet connectivity during business travel (a cost offset is provided by the CSG Justice Center)

CSG believes that pay equity and pay transparency advance workplace fairness. Compensation will be equitable and based on experience and geography. The NYC-based salary range for this position is $75,000 to $81,600. The starting salary for this position outside of NYC may be as low as $51,600. Salary ranges are subject to change based on work location and market conditions.
