Job Overview:

The Associate Network Engineer will play a lead role in the planning, implementation, and field support of the network infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for the configuration and deployment of network equipment within DigitalC’s multi-layered environment. We are looking for an experienced candidate with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks & projects appropriately in a fast-paced and high-growing Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP).

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate site readiness for new deployments and on-going projects.
  • Responsible for the equipment [including but not limited to network switches & backhaul radios] configuration, integration, and troubleshooting of new sites and buildings.
  • Ensure that the network infrastructure is properly configured to support the highest availability and reliability.
  • Research and/or investigate technical issues impacting the organization and recommend solutions.
  • Communicate timely updates to project stakeholders from beginning to end of projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and update library of deployment documentation for trouble incidents.
  • Participate in on-call rotation schedules and respond to after-hour issues in a timely manner based upon the severity and/or business impact.
  • Acquire proficiency in DigitalC's network infrastructure, including technologies, tools, and daily operational processes.
  • Conduct project completion audits in alignment with organizational guidelines to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance and system upgrades with the engineering team, focusing on enhancing network performance and minimizing outages.
  • Collaborate with Engineering team members to influence and contribute to design and testing strategies, aiming to enhance network reliability, scalability, and standardization.
  • Perform comprehensive site surveys for Telco Towers, Rooftops, and Multi Dwelling Units (MDUs) to ensure optimal wiring, power supply, and equipment placement, adhering to safety and performance standards.


Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor level degree in engineering (IT, Telecom) and 3-5 years’ experience working in the Telecom/WISP industry. Preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.
  • Networking Certifications to include but not limited to – CompTIA Network+, CCNA and CCNP. Preferred but not required.
  • Wireless Network Certification(s). Preferred but not required.
  • Internet Service Provider (ISP) / Wireless ISP/ Telecommunication background preferred but not required
  • Fundamental understanding of network routing and switching.
  • Adequate competency in IP, TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, and log collection.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues methodically and understand the root cause.
  • Strong understanding of wireless standards, technologies, and implementations in carrier networks.
  • Good understanding of Wireless Point-to-Point (PtP) and Point-to-Multipoint (PtMP) deployments and configurations.
  • Moderate experience with LAN, WAN, and WLAN configuration management and administration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical skills, continuous drive for improvement and progression.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and complete important time sensitive tasks.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of drive & energy.
