PURPOSE OF POSITION
D.F. King & Co., Inc., a leading full-service proxy solicitation and corporate/financial communications firm, specializing in proxy contests,
corporate governance consulting and tender/exchange offers for corporate control, is seeking an Associate to join its fast-paced corporate
proxy solicitation team in our Wall Street Office in downtown Manhattan. This position will liaise directly with senior management on high
profile proxy events. The Associate position will assist in compiling data from department sources and proprietary tools to perform
institutional research functions to further the strategy recommendations to S&P 500 clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary function will be to contact via email and telephone front- and back-office personnel at major institutional investors regarding
shareholder meetings, corporate actions, debt/bond assignments and/or general corporate governance practices. An Associate will run
institutional position lists, prepare institutional contact lists, contact proxy and reorganization departments and perform institutional research
required for the department's assignments.
The position will also perform research using internal and Internet-based databases and subscriptions, information gathered from calls and
other market research tools (i.e., Factset, Bloomberg, ISS, Glass Lewis, etc.) for client reporting.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a similar related field
• Must be computer literate, familiar with internet research techniques and proficient in Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, and Power
Point at a minimum
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be comfortable and professional in phone and written
correspondence
• Must be able to work both independently and in a cooperative, team environment
• Experience using Bloomberg or Factset a plus
• Bi/Multi-lingual capability a definite plus (especially Spanish, Portuguese, and/or French)
