Form of workThe Associate Governmental Program Analyst will be directed by the Program Director, Department of Social Work Services, and in consultation with the Discharge and Community Integration Specialist, at the Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:
• Assists in analyzing, evaluating, reviewing, processing, and monitoring hospital-based discharge efforts for civil and forensic patients including but not limited to Incompetent to Stand Trial, Offender with Mental Disorder, Sexually Violent Predator, Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity, and LPS commitment types.
• Tracks the most complex discharges and assists with coordinating stakeholders and acts as a liaison between the hospital, DSH Legal, Public Defender Re-Entry Social Work staff, CONREP, County Behavioral Health, County Jails, and other placement and continuing care providers.
• Develop, implement, and maintain tracking databases to ensure proper continuing care coordination, service, tracking, research, and information on discharge/return to court program operation.
• Obtain and scan documents such as discharge referrals, legal files, and other correspondence necessary to assist in the transition of patients to the most appropriate placement in the least restrictive environment.
• Assists others in understanding and following Department policies and procedures for a wide variety of administrative related subjects and processes.

1. BE LIST ELIGIBLE: Successfully complete the competitive State civil service exam pertaining to this classification at Associate Governmental Program Analyst Exam Bulletin , OR
2. BE TRANSFER ELIGIBLE: Have current employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable (employees who wish to be considered based on transfer eligibility must meet the minimum qualifications of the classification per DPA Rule 250), OR
3. BE REINSTATEMENT ELIGIBLE: Have obtained previous permanent employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: The following education is required when general experience is used to qualify at any level: equivalent to graduation from college. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.) AND Either I Experience: One year of experience performing the duties of a Staff Services Analyst, Range C. or OR II Experience: Three years of professional analytical experience performing duties in one or a combination of the following or closely related areas: budgeting, management analysis, personnel, planning, program evaluation, or policy analysis.
