Summary
You will utilize your technical expertise to collaborate with sales, marketing/consumer insights, and flavorists to provide taste/texture solutions aligned with global and regional segment strategy and client needs. Strong communication skills will be needed for daily communication with creation/application labs, sales, marketing, technical services and our customers. You will be responsible for various facets of product development, such as managing project workload, flavor optimization, staying up to date on emerging technologies in beverage development, and spearheading prototype development and formulation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and beverage applications support to promote coffee and beverage initiatives.
- Develop beverage application bases and create new beverage concepts to proactively showcase Lucta flavors, ingredients, technologies, and innovations.
- Considering factors such as taste, color, aroma, and texture.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and quality standards in beverage development.
- Select flavors for off-shelf submissions.
- Stay informed on new ingredients, products, and trends which allows for the development of innovative and marketable beverage products that meet consumer demands.
- Develop beverage application bases and create new beverage concepts to proactively showcase Lucta flavors, ingredients, technologies, and innovations.
- Interface with Technical, Sales and Marketing to develop a deep understanding of customer needs and preferences.
- Project Management: Champion briefs and required action items to meet objectives, participate in work sessions with customers and deliver presentation in a technical capacity as needed to support sales.
- Travel: Attend SCAA and/or other trade shows, assist sales/marketing for client presentations as needed.
- Conduct basic sensory evaluations and consumer testing to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments to product formulations.
- Maintain knowledge of beverage clients’ strategies, brands and products in order to generate new opportunities for growth
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- 5-10 years applications experience in beverage development.
- Proven experience in beverage formulation and flavor development, preferably in a flavor or beverage company.
- Strong knowledge of ingredients, flavor systems, and delivery systems used in beverage development.
- Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for beverage formulation and documentation.
- Strong project management skills and communication skills (both written and verbal)
