T&M Associates is seeking an experienced Transportation Planner to join our established Transportation and Highways Practice in Middletown, NJ. This individual will have responsibilities in design, traffic investigations, and transportation studies related to transportation planning projects. Additional responsibilities will include marketing and business development related tasks, in partnership with other senior leaders in the Transportation and Municipal groups.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Assist with the development of proposed design alternatives and project specific needs based on the regional or local infrastructure framework.
- Evaluate and recommend transportation system improvements based on economic, population, modal splits, land-use, traffic projections, and other data driven metrics.
- Develop design ideas for transportation infrastructure, such as pedestrian safety/connectivity, bicycle/micro-mobility planning, transit needs, roadway networks, greenways, etc.
- Evaluate models to forecast impacts associated with road improvements, policy changes and/or public transport schemes.
- Participate in public meetings, prepare graphics, project fact sheets, and other materials for public distribution.
- Perform traffic/safety investigations and recommend safety improvements.
- Prepare transportation studies, analyses, graphics, and data compilation, focused on transportation planning projects.
- Work with the Planning Group to explore additional services/opportunities with the existing (Municipal) client base.
- Work with the Municipal Department to explore additional services/opportunities related to Grant funding of safety/bike/ped and other related transportation infrastructure planning/implementation projects.
- Assist with marketing/client development opportunities at NJDOT, MPOs, Counties, Cities, or teaming opportunities with other firms.
- Assist with Developing a Transportation Planning ‘strategy’ for future growth.
- Aide in proposal preparation and participate in business development efforts.
