Job Summary
This is a multi-level growth series position (Grade Level 24/25) that is posted at the lower level. The title and grade level assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process. Supports PSE&G Environmental Compliance Programs and processes for the facility/operating organization in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulatory requirements, as well as Company policies and procedures. Responsible for programs and facility Environmental Compliance, inspections, coordination of hazardous waste and PCB inventory, issuance of regulatory reports and environmental data management. Participate on environmental teams and assist in response to regulatory and compliance issues and closure of actions items for environmental and technical program problems. Performs non-routine and technical assignments with a minimum of supervision including spill and emergency response. Compiles technical, environmental and regulatory data that include analysis of reports, inventory, scheduling and environmental commitment tracking. Performs environmental tasks to determine compliance requirements including field work, surveys, inspections and support of USEPA, NJDEP and local government agency regulatory filings.
Job Responsibilities
  • Supports PSE&G Environmental Projects & Services Oversight program. Will provide environmental oversight associated with processes for the facility/operating organization in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulatory requirements, as well as Company policies and procedures. Conducts facility Environmental Compliance inspections, coordination of waste and PCB inventory and environmental data management. Assist in closure of actions items for environmental and technical program problems. Participate and support client environmental service needs and perform routine and technical Environmental Compliance assignments with a minimum of supervision including spill and emergency response.
    • Collects a variety of technical, environmental and regulatory data that include analysis of reports, inventory and scheduling. Supports environmental tasks to determine compliance requirements including field work, surveys, inspections and construction layouts.
    • Maintain waste specifications, material labels and tracking documents for routine waste collection and projects. Maintain operating and waste material data, summaries and agency reports along with associated records.
    • Support audits and self-assessments of environmental programs and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance. Participates on environmental teams and assist in response to compliance issues and closure of actions items for environmental and technical program problems. Provides input and support to management on environmental issues and facility compliance programs.
    • Provide general vendor supervision and performs routine tasks to properly manage, store, transport and/or dispose of hazardous waste/PCB waste. Assist in maintaining inventory and storage of hazardous materials in accordance with regulatory requirements.
    • Assists in preparation of various forms & documents required for hazardous and non-hazardous shipments in accordance with USEPA, NJDEP and local requirements and internal procedures. Other administrative, cost, invoice validation and miscellaneous projects as assigned.

Job Specific Qualifications
Requirements:
  • High school diploma with some college course work in math, engineering or sciences;
  • 0-2 years of work related experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable engineering, construction standards, regulations and business practices.
  • Strong computer skills in PC applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Because the job requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.
