Job Summary:
As the Lead Program Operations Manager (POM), you will be accountable for the Operations performance of the Strike Initiatives suite of programs & leading a team of three POMs. This is a unique opportunity to shape & execute challenging franchise programs, supporting internal & external customers. This is a Sr. level role & will be reporting into the Strike Initiatives Operations & Supply Chain leader. The successful candidate is a self-starter capable of strategic vision, with the ability to guarantee execution to program & functional objectives. In this matrixed environment, you will be accountable for executing current contracts as well as setting conditions for successful follow-on work. The POM position is the primary interface between the SSBU IPTL & the Factory Leadership Team, responsible for communicating all Program requirements to the Strategic Make Centers (SMCs) & manufacturing sites. This individual will collaborate with Program Management & be the liaison to the SMCs ensuring that all program needs are integrated & supported to meet program commitments. Results will be accomplished through leading, influencing & briefing across all levels of the organization, including internal & external customers. This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities for technically complex, high dollar value weapon systems spanning multiple development, production & sustainment (Depot) contracts. While this position is hybrid, it requires spending significant amounts of time in & around factory areas & closed areas, requiring on-site support. The ideal candidate will possess the demonstrated skills & experience necessary to provide Ops leadership across the program lifecycle including proposals, development, production, & sustainment activities. The preferred candidate must be capable of working beyond the typical 40-hour work week, travel in support of company & customer needs, & move between buildings & facilities.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Lead, collaborate & influence driving quality & performance for program deliverables, accountable for factory integration, consolidated program performance, & unique program requirements flow down
- Participate in strategic Program/Ops planning for current production performance & future development efforts
- Communicate across programs, to identify, assess, collaborate & resolve any conflicts with program requirements
- Define clear ops schedules, priorities & goals for each Strategic Make Center
- Ops point of contact for proposal development & approval, ensuring proposed costs or challenges are understood by Ops leadership & factories
- Coordinate & develop ops requirements for all gate reviews & execute proposed strategies from early gate reviews for effective implementation in future production to include Make/Buy/Where strategy
- Ownership of the Program’s Ops EAC & budget
- Prepare & present for Monthly Management Reviews, summarizing program status & any on-going production issues
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- 12 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field & minimum 10 years experience Engineering/Other Technical Positions:
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, asonly U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Demonstrated successful experience including working in a manufacturing environment with complex systems integration within multiple factories, multifaceted federal regulatory requirements, and/or military or defense manufacturing
