Executive Education is responsible for the development and management of all the school's non-degree program offerings. The mission of our organization is to "use GSB faculty ideas to inspire global leaders to change their thinking and drive positive impact throughout their organizations." Executive Education also provides an ideal vehicle for the GSB to experiment with innovation in both content and pedagogy.
The Executive Education Business and Program Development team of the Stanford Graduate School of Business seeks an Associate Director of Program Development. The Associate Director, Program Development role is responsible for program and curriculum design within Stanford GSB Executive Education. The position will work closely with both faculty and corporate client partners to create impactful Executive Education programs for senior corporate executives.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support Stanford GSB Faculty in the development and design of programs for executives. This could be in the context of creating open enrollment programs for individual leaders and/or custom programs for clients from organizations around the world. Program development is an iterative process involving faculty as well as a variety of stakeholders to create meaningful and impactful learning experiences.
This is a full-time, hybrid position with a minimum requirement of 2 days per week onsite.
Your primary responsibilities include:
  • Working with senior Stanford faculty and senior corporate executives to craft recommendations for impactful, high- quality Executive Education programs.
    • Gain and maintain a deep understanding of faculty teaching content and how that content translates to organizational development and leadership development needs.
    • Understand client learning and development needs and design programs that help clients reach their goals and budget parameters, leveraging Stanford learning assets and experiences.
    • Contributes to program proposals, focusing on the curriculum, in concert with our business development colleagues and faculty, and be part of the team who presents the program proposal to the client.
    • Synthesize complex ideas and effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders throughout the life of the Program Development cycle. This includes participating in exploratory conversations, leading the program design process and maintaining involvement through delivery, evaluation and enhancement.
  • Facilitating program enhancements and/or new program concepts.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to listen.
    • Excellent customer engagement skills to build and manage client and external relationships as well as faculty relationships.
    • Stakeholder management skills with the ability to provide structure to complex and evolving Program Development processes are essential.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to build relationships and achieve results working across functions.
    • Inclination towards knowledge sharing and collaborative problem solving.
    • Ability to direct the work of others, for tasks requiring supervision.
  • A life-long learning mindset with a strong desire to become proficient in Stanford GSB content.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
  • Proficiency using tools within the Google and Microsoft Technology Suites.
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

In addition, preferred requirements include:
  • MBA or Graduate degree and 7+ years preferred.

The expected pay range for this position is $95,000 to $125,000 per annum.
Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
