Associate Director of Student Accounts

The Office of Student Accounts is looking to recruit an Associate Director. Reporting to the Director of Student Accounts, the Associate Director of Student Accounts will be responsible for the oversight and management of the Banner Student Accounts Receivable system as well as all related interfaces. The Associate Director will be the lead on developing, maintaining, and coordinating all fee assessment rules, detail codes, 3rd party billing, oversee refunding, payment plans and bill processing for all University academic programs. The Associate Director will be responsible for the oversight of staff training, system implementations and enhancements as well as adherence to all federal, state, and institutional policies, procedures, and regulations. This position will be responsible for oversight of the 1098-T regulatory tax processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal regulations. He/she will oversee the creation and delivery of all financial reporting (daily, weekly, monthly, ad hoc).

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Banner Student Account Receivables: Oversee the Banner Student A/R system including -creation, testing and implementation of tuition and fee assessment; 1098-T, the 3rd Party Billing, Exemptions. Align business and bill processing calendar with other (feeder) systems/services and University needs. Ensure the accurate recording of all credits and debits.
• System Interfaces: Oversee both input and output interfaces with Student Account Receivables. Manage the business cycle needs for each interface. Coordinate systems interfaces with other offices including Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Loan Collections and Collections as required.
• Management of the Student Accounts Staff: Provide development and training for direct reports and leadership and guidance for their area responsibilities. Oversee the escheatment of liquid and Title IV funds. Oversee the 3rd Party Billing and Exemption Processes. Oversee the refunding of credit balances according to pre-established policies and procedures.
• Reporting: Provide regular (daily, weekly, monthly, annually) and ad hoc financial report of Student account receivables including 3rd party billing, AR Aging Reports, Weekly AR Comparative reports. Work with ECSI to establish collection status reports.
• Collaborate Across Campus: Collaborates with campus stakeholders to identify and implement interventions that directly support enrollment, retention, and matriculation of Students.
• Compliance: Maintains up to date with federal and state regulatory updates, impact reports, standard operating procedures, audit guides, and institutional/state reports.
• Audits: Support the Director in strategic planning, policy development, and decision-making related to audit and compliance matters.
• Lead and conduct thorough audits across various departments, assessing compliance with established procedures and regulations. Develop audit plans, methodologies, and risk assessments to guide audit processes effectively. Review and analyze financial documents, processes, and systems to identify discrepancies and potential areas of concern.

Qualifications:
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and four years of supervisory/management experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
Preference may be given to those who possess a bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in Student Accounts, finance, and student financial aid. Must have experience with accounts receivable operations.
