ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide education about the ECT procedure and obtain a level of understanding from the patient and family.
- Work within the treatment team to provide pre-treatment assessment, treatment monitoring and post-anesthesia recovery management for patients and assure the smooth flow of patients through the ECT process.
- Participate in development and evaluation of nursing practices provided in the clinical setting and the overall function of the clinical area including the ECT Suite.
- Use multiple data sources to determine actual/potential health issues, functional status and safety concerns.
- Communicate patient’s condition and need for altered care with treatment team.
- Establish a therapeutic alliance with assigned patients, initiates and continues pulse oximetry, oxygen saturation and EKG monitoring throughout treatment and recovery.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
- Previous Psych experience preferred.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Current RN License as required by state.
- Current ACLS certification and Current IV Certification required.
- CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
