SUMMARY

The Associate Director of IT is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing key elements of the Information Technology function within the company. This position plays a crucial role in shaping and executing the company's technology strategy, fostering transformation initiatives, and promoting efficient and secure operation of IT systems to support business operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with other senior IT leaders in developing and executing the IT strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Identifying opportunities to leverage technology to improve operational effectiveness, enhancing customer experience, and driving business innovation by partnering with business leaders and stakeholders.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of business processes, systems and data to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to enhance productivity. Collaborate with key stakeholders to conceive, formulate and deploy IT solutions to address evolving business needs.

  • Collaborate with divisions and corporate areas to understand their technology needs and provide guidance. Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for technology-driven process improvements and new sources of value enabled by digital technologies. Communicate IT initiatives, progress, and outcomes effectively to executive leadership and stakeholders as needed.

  • Contribute to developing a sustainable IT ecosystem partnering with the IT Operations Manager and other IT leaders in assessing, designing and maintaining a robust and scalable infrastructure to support company solutions and services. Prioritize integration, availability, reliability and security of IT systems.  

  • Promote, enable, and facilitate data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support informed decision-making across divisions and areas, partnering with IT leaders in elevating reporting and analytics practices to provide actionable information to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

  • Actively participate in the formulation and implementation of IT governance frameworks, develop policies, processes, and procedures to elevate the Information Technology practice, maintain compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, and prioritizing the development of robust cybersecurity and business continuity practices lead by the IT Operations Manager.

  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure quality and cost-effective IT services. Conduct specific IT procurements to negotiate vendor contracts, licenses, and support agreements. Lead preparation and management of the IT budget, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and cost-effectiveness.

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective project communication, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Interact in person with peers and public

  • Travel by air, rail, or car based on most efficient and effective mode of travel to accomplish goals and objectives.

Qualifications

BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Or extensive experience (8+ years) in IT leadership roles, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and their IT requirements.

  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing complex IT systems and infrastructure.

  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise software applications, ERP systems, manufacturing execution systems (MES), and similarly complex information systems.

  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, networks, and emerging technologies.

  • Experience with digital transformation initiatives and driving technology-enabled business process improvements.

  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to IT security and compliance.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop cross-functional teams.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, coupled with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas. The noise level in the production environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes.
