Salary Starting at $76,079 to $95,009 based on experience.
Position Overview: The Associate Director provides the strategic development and assists in the execution of all Internal Communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and cultural alignment for Pace Center for Girls messaging to our team members. This position is responsible for aligning internal messaging with external communications as well as ensuring a manageable flow of information to our team. This position will provide proactive and trusted communications counsel to senior stakeholders, which will include taking lead on mission critical team member communications, emerging issues, or crises as needed.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Plan communication cadence, channels and content for company communications in conjunction with Executive Leadership Team (ELT)
- Serve as a strategic partner, providing counsel and executive writing support to senior leadership team as needed.
- Audit existing Internal Communications, systems, and processes, including volume, frequency, audience and messaging for Internal Communications.
- Develop policies to ensure strong Internal Communications.
- Develop strategies to effectively and swiftly respond to a variety of crisis situations; build internal comms rapid response protocols and playbook
- Serve as lead internal writer for change, social issues, and crisis communications
- Support the Power Justice and Equity team in the development of communication and sharing of initiatives to staff.
- Be a thought leader and collaborate on developing trainings and presentations in support of Internal communication initiatives.
- Identify and implement tools and processes to streamline National Pace communications to large
- Define Key Performance Indicators for Internal Communications and regularly report on them.
- Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders. Plan, edit and write content for a variety of Internal Communications mediums, such as a staff intranet, and monthly newsletter. You may also be required to work on the layout of content.
- Draft messages or scripts from senior executives for presentation to employees in written or spoken form.
- Ensure Internal Communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of Pace
- Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messages.
- Solicit and respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications content accordingly.
- Collaborate with ELT, People & Culture (HR) and Public Relations to handle the internal communication response to crisis situations that affect organizational perception and reputation.
- Advise senior executives of developments throughout the organization, either face to face or through regular written communication.

Skills/Knowledge
- Proven track record of 7+ years of experience developing strategic corporate communications programming. This person has experience creating and executing Internal Communications and programs that align with an organization's strategic plan and values, and a track record of delivering measurable results.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. An outstanding writer with the ability to create compelling messages that provides all team members with a clear line of sight to organizational strategy.
- Ability to distill large amounts of information into a salient, succinct, and compelling messages.
- Superior collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to think strategically (outcome-focused), drive execution, and be comfortable with new ideas and approaches.
- Ability to identify and analyze organization and audience needs to deliver messages via the most appropriate mix of channels including intranet, emails, presentations, events, and corporate meetings.
- Experience in solving problems using judgment and analysis, providing communications guidance and support, and comfortable pushing back to ensure the best communication decisions.
- Ability to manage a number of programs/projects simultaneously in fast-paced environment often interrupted with immediate support requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Communications, Public Relations, or Business Administration.
