Job Functions: The Associate Director of Housing Services implements and supervises the Housing Team. The Associate Director of Housing Services ensures that Metropolitan Ministries services enhances client's quality of life and collaborates with partners to promote the continuum of care.


Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Selects, supervises, supports and trains Housing Case Managers and Housing Specialist program staff. Responsible for completing employee evaluations on those directly supervised and for ensuring that an effective employee development, discipline and recognition programs are implemented.
  2. Regularly analyzing and utilizing outcomes data for KPI and grant compliance on a monthly and quarterly basis for continuous program improvement. Monitors progress for quality assurance on families. Safeguards client confidentiality and ensures all records are accurate and objective.
  3. Develops program policies and procedures, design and implement housing program refinements based on best practices and housing market trends. Incorporate evaluation results, conduct current research on local and national trends, and staff input.
  4. Maintain knowledge of Housing program priorities and consult and communicate with the AVP of Employment and Housing on relevant issues to include monitoring contractual agreements and coordinating staff training needs.
  5. Monitor the Housing Virtual Uplift U curriculum and the Monday platform. Connect with the appropriate staff as needed regarding course documentation.
  6. Actively collaborate with the ELT team member in the Education and Employment team to enhance continuum of care services and increase housing stability after client transition.
  7. Join appropriate housing associations, attend professional conferences and workshops as appropriate to the responsibilities of the position and program needs in order to develop and maintain administrative and service expertise commensurate with the job duties.
  8. Works as a partner with THHI and attends partner meetings.
  9. Serves as representative with internal and external partners regarding the Housing Team programs as needed. Establishes and maintains partnerships with landlords to support families served.
  10. Establishes and maintains partnerships with hotels/motels to include the development of MOU's between the agencies.
  11. Monitors progress of files for Quality Assurance on families.
  12. Manages rental assistance grants to include EFSP and other grants as awarded.
  13. Participate in Metropolitan Ministries' holiday efforts. Participate in Bridge Builders and other fundraising events when needed.
  14. Meets personal goals and actively contributes to the achievement of team and organizational targets/goals as stated on the KPI and in the annual plan. Attends required staff meetings and on-going trainings. Perform other duties upon request.
Requirements:

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Human Service Field; Master's degree or previous relator experience preferred. Three years supervisory experience and 3-5 years of Case Management experience.


Skill Requirements:

Requires heart for ministry. Requires understanding of poverty, a high degree of maturity, strong inter-personal skills and the ability to work with low socio-economic and diverse populations facing crisis situations in a professional and diplomatic manner. Ability to deescalate clients on the edge of verbal or physical violence. Ability to work as part of a team within a multi-disciplinary framework. Demonstrates computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Requires oral and written communication skills and the ability to write reports and conduct and participate in meetings. Must have a valid driver's license and a car.


Physical Requirements:

Must have adequate hearing and speaking ability as to take part in and provide sound oral communication and information. Must be capable of working outdoors in sunlight and higher temperatures on occasion. Must have the physical, emotional, and spiritual stamina to handle job-related issues and stress. Must be able to lift 20 lbs or more.


Other:

Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States. Must pass required background pre-employment screening. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Requires a valid driver's license, a clean driving record and the ability to qualify for the Ministries' driving program.
