Position Overview: Assists the Director in the oversight and overall operation of the agency's Day Services Department, which includes the supervision of staff, the delivery of consumer services and quality assurance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the hiring, supervision and evaluation of assigned staff. Assists the Director with recruitment and retention incentives.
- Responsible for the implementation and oversight of quality monitoring/auditing systems and initiation of appropriate responses to problems and variances from acceptable standards as they arise. Assists the Director in meeting OMRDD requirements (including Part 624, Part 633 and Part 635 regulations), Medicaid requirements and Agency policy and procedure.
- Assists with the development and implementation of documentation procedures and assists in assuring the maintenance of data bases at program sites.
- Assists with the development of Day Services policy and procedure.
- Participates as a member of the Agency's Joint Directors and Associate Directors team in recommending policy and strategies toward achievement of Agency goals and mission. Assures coordination and effective relationships with other Agency departments.
- Assists Director in assuring operation within spending plan limits.
- Maintains positive and productive relationships with representatives of Agency staff, representatives of OMR/DD and other community services and supports. Acts as a resource to agency staff in areas of expertise.
- Assures effective communication and coordination among consumers, families, service providers and responsible staff.
- Serves as a team member to assure consumer satisfaction with services, assists in problem solving, and attends team meetings as requested.
- Oversees the maintenance of the Day Services waitlist and assures that vacancies are filled in a timely manner.
- Serves as a role model while promoting positive, professional behaviors and interactions for all staff and consumers. Maintains neat appearance, hygiene and grooming.
- Represents the Day Services Department at designated community-based collaboratives and/or committees.
- Assists the Director with Day Services development and other initiatives as requested.
- Provides administrative coverage for Day Services in the absence of the Director.
- Keeps supervisor informed of all (potential) obstacles and concerns.
- Performs all other necessary duties as assigned and assures compliance with agency policies, procedures and all regulatory requirements.
