The following position is to join our Corporate or Research Center Team:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role is responsible for integrating all aspects of the digital/IT supply chain and sourcing functions into Enterprise Services (ES) Strategy and Transformation Initiatives through collaborating and partnering with suppliers, ES leaders, and functional service owners.  A key component of the role is to develop supplier capabilities, partnerships and category strategies for enterprise collaboration tools and services from ES work stream leaders and business units (BUs).  

The ideal candidate will draw from experience in professional services and software (SaaS, perpetual, and subscription) who can assist with translating this knowledge via contract negotiations and project management skills to lead the coordination, communication and integration of suppliers to support the achievement of technical, financial and performance objectives. This candidate must have the business acumen to connect technical requirements and concerns to contract performance and should be able to proactively identify and resolve problems efficiently and effectively.  This candidate will have a deep understanding of enterprise application contracts with the ability to manage licensing, maintenance, and support requirements.  This individual will have a deep understanding of supplier products/services such as various strategies to drive year on year cost savings to help RTX meet its bottom line.  As this is a fast-paced environment, understanding of the Collaboration tools under various licensing models to facilitate execution is strongly desired.

A deep understanding of the end-to-end procurement process, from contract negotiations to requisition and PO placement is needed for this role.  The leader continuously monitors and evaluates supplier metrics for trends and root causes and formulates proactive plans to ensure overall success of the category.  Given the number of contracts, this individual must be able to effectively employ project management skills to develop and manage an integrated master schedule to engagements and other activities.  The successful candidate will have excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to develop effective presentations and present to leadership and peers.
 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Leads and drive contract negotiations for services (managed service, contingent labor contracts, etc.)
  • Develops and manages an integrated master schedule of engagements, renewals, RFQs, etc.
  • Reviews Statements of Work (SOW) documents and ensures procurement and sourcing best practices are followed
  • Analyze pricing and negotiate complex digital software and services agreements
  • Establishes supplier engagement plans and enforce overall governance within portfolio
  • Build strong partnerships across various stakeholders (legal, finance, etc.)
  • Develop strong supplier relationships to drive effectiveness and value
  • Establish top supplier engagement plans and governance to ensure quality
  • Develop executive level analysis & presentations
  • Provides support and guidance to functional leads with any vendor / contract related issues
  • Manages conflict resolution and escalations as needed
  • Supplier spend analysis

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 12 years of Sourcing and Procurement Management, Contract/Subcontract Management, Category Management experience, with at least 8 years in Digital IT Preferred
  • Experience with sourcing roles and functions, including creating sourcing roadmaps, developing category strategies, licensing/asset management, risk management, action item management, requirement change management, metrics management, and category management
  • Strong negotiations and sourcing skills with understanding of different contract types
  • Ability to effectively communicate, execute and manage contracts that meet technical, cost, and schedule goals
  • Must possess strong collaboration skills enabling effective communication and demonstrated business results working internally with functional service owners in Enterprise Services and across business units, as well as externally with suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to understand financial information, budgets and program performance and develop strategies and business cases to improve performance in these areas
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong project management skills and ability to convert requirements into executable strategies, and ability to develop and manage an integrated master schedule
  • Ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team
  • Ability to develop effective presentations and documents used for leadership reviews
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Education: 

Typically requires:

A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or

An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience
