Supports the environmental, health and safety regulatory needs of the company and its assets.
- Provides legal counseling and strategic advice to clients relating to all manner of federal, state and local environmental, health and safety programs.
- Provides legal counseling and support relating to federal, state and local environmental permitting actions.
- Provides legal counseling and support for administrative and civil enforcement actions brought by the various governmental entities as well as potential citizen suit claims brought by NGOs.
- Provides legal counseling and support relating to OSHA, CSB and other state-corollary safety programs.
- Interfaces with government agencies on all regulatory issues.
- Researches, analyzes, and provides legal and strategic advice relating to applicable statutes, regulations, orders, policy and guidance documents.
- Tracks and provides support to clients, including as necessary the drafting of public comments, on federal, state and local regulations and rulemaking.
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher level degree - in a related field required.
- 2 years experience in legal practice is required.
- Law degree required from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to the practice of law in the relevant state or be otherwise eligible to practice law in such state required.
- Experience in relevant function with another major public corporation or a law firm preferred.
Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
