Job description

This is a full-time, tenure-track position in the Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Preventive Medicine.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a diverse research portfolio with a mixture of collaborative and independent methodological research. All areas of Biostatistics are of interest. We are especially interested in candidates with a demonstrated interest in causal inference, large observational studies, clinical trials, and machine learning. We are looking for an individual with the ability to think critically, and with a body of creative work applying statistical principles and techniques to biomedical science.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Methodological research that results in peer-reviewed publications; Collaborative research including assistance with grant applications, and data analysis on funded grants; Teaching of 1 -2 graduate courses per year and supervision of graduate students; and Internal consulting in our Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) unit.
Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics or related area.
  • Primary criteria for appointment will be research track record (publications in peer-reviewed journals, published software or other research products), teaching experience, and communication skills.
  • Clinical and public health research experience is desirable.

Applicants for Associate Professor should additionally demonstrate evidence of sustained productivity and ability to contribute to extramurally funded research as co-investigator or principal investigator.
