What You'll Do:
In Retirement and Income Solutions (RIS), we help people save enough, protect enough and have enough in retirement. We work with advisors, plan sponsors and TPAs to serve more than 40,000 employers and 5.6 million people. We have about 3,600 employees in 31 states across the U.S. and a service team in Pune, India!

Principal Financial Group is seeking an AVP, Retirement Marketing within RIS. This individual will be responsible for the creation and execution of retirement product line marketing strategies. As the AVP, Retirement Marketing, you will provide direction and leadership to ensure high quality of all Retirement Marketing plans.

In addition, you'll:
  • Collaborate with Sr. leaders to validate strategic business plans and build strategic Retirement Marketing Plans. Provide creative input on new and revised retirement product/service ideas to meet the constantly evolving demands of the market.
  • Build, implement and complete full marketing plans on behalf of the retirement product lines while ensuring marketing plans support growth and RIS retention strategies.
  • Work with RIS Sr. Leaders and support areas on driving strategy.
  • Define measurable goals for Retirement Marketing strategies. Measure efficiency of market plans and provide overall positive marketing ROI.
  • Resolve efficient ways to improve operations and improve profitability.
  • Maintain an understanding of industry trends. Identify potential for market opportunities and/or new retirement service lines.
  • Provide formal leadership to other leaders on the team.
Who You Are:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent required, plus 12+ years related work experience; i.e. within financial services focusing on retirement products
  • Requires knowledge in retirement plan philosophy and design
  • Must have strong leadership ability, global and critical thinking skills, effective communication and decision making skills
  • Must have excellent planning/interpersonal, problem solving, analytical, presentation, listening, and oral/written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy while being detail oriented required
  • Must be able to provide on-call support
  • Travel required (15%) including overnight stays
Salary Range Information: Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Work Environments

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
