This position is located at Criss Cole Rehabilitation Center, 4800 North Lamar, Austin.

The Assistant to the Director is selected by and reports to the Center Director (CD) in coordination with the Deputy Regional Director. The Assistant to the Director moderately complex (journey-level) staff services activities that support the efficiency and effectiveness of program staff services while maintaining confidentiality to sensitive issues. May train others. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Supports the Center Director and Deputy Regional Director by planning, directing, and coordinating diverse staff services functions necessary for the operation of regional programs to include managing complex communications.
- Manages document processing including maintaining knowledge of accessibility.
- Analyzes, develops and recommends practices and procedures related to program support functions.
- Coordinates and directs special projects.
- Assists in regional program operational expense budget issues (researching, querying, and reporting program data utilizing the agency case management systems).
- Serves as regional expert on utilizing the agency administrative system and serves as back-up to the security camera system.
- Prepares financial and/or administrative correspondence of program staff under the direct supervision of the CD and /or DRD.
- Analyzes and reports program statistical information, preparing statistical summaries, charts, graphs presenting the results of analysis.
- Consults with the CD as appropriate on the progress, development, and evaluation of areas of responsibility and special project activities.
- Performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university, plus two years of full-time experience in business management, human resource administration, budget preparation or control, or a related staff services function;
Twelve semester hours of graduate study from an accredited college or university may be substituted for each year of the required qualifying experience;
A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university will satisfy the minimum qualifications.
One additional year of full-time qualifying experience may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education.
Regional and statewide travel is required, 10% of the time. Variable work hours may be required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Duty also includes the ability to carry/lift 10 pounds.
