Department IUPUI INFORMATICS (IN-INFO-IUINA) Department Information As the first school of its kind in the United States, the IU Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering is an innovator in a fast-paced and dynamic field. Job Summary This position supports the activities of the Executive Associate Dean (EAD) in charge of operations, which includes Academic Affairs, Finance, Technology Services, Marketing and Communications, Development and Facilities, of the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering at IUPUI (Luddy at IUPUI). A central part of school operations, the assistant works closely with the Associate Deans, the staff, department chairs and directors, and IU administrators and staff on a range of strategic, operational, and organizational issues.

Department-Specific Responsibilities Provides assistance to the EAD with comprehensive academic and administrative resource planning, fact finding, and coordination as it relates to internal business operations, faculty governance, faculty hires, faculty reappointments and non-reappointments, tenure and promotion, faculty leaves, faculty and staff award nominations, development and dissemination of school policies and procedures, dual-career arrangements, and special projects as assigned by the EAD. Solely responsible for overseeing the calendars of the EAD and the Associate Dean for Research (ADR). Coordinates activities of the school's faculty promotion and tenure committee.

Directly manages tasks and day-to-day operations of the Office of the Executive Associate Dean. Serves as the face of the EAD's office and serves as the primary point of contact, liaising with internal and external contacts. Coordinates the activities of the school's faculty and promotion and tenure committee.

In collaboration with the Chairs and EAD, manages the 3 rd Year Review and Promotion and Tenure processes. Manages the school's Programs Involving Children (PICs) to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures. Solely responsible for overseeing the calendars of the EAD and the Associate Dean for Research (ADR).

General Responsibilities Provides administrative support to executives, exercising confidentiality, tact and diplomacy. Utilizes business software applications to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc. Receives, screens, and directs incoming calls, visitors, mail, and email promptly, courteously, and accurately Manages executive's calendar, meetings, travel, correspondence, and budget.

Acts as informal resource for colleagues with less experience; responds to more complex or escalated inquiries Identifies, enhances, and follows specific processes and procedures to maximize the efficiencies of the business to which the support is being provided. May perform other duties related to maintaining an internal website and/or working with social media. Qualifications EDUCATION Required High school diploma or GED Preferred Bachelor's degree WORK EXPERIENCE Required 4 years of relevant experience Combinations of related education and experience may be considered SKILLS Required Excellent organizational skills Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information Strong verbal communication and listening skills Excellent collaboration and team building skills Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills Effective conflict management skills Working Conditions / Demands This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment.

The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation. Work Location IUPUI campus The Luddy School at IUPUI prizes work/life balance and offers a remote work policy which allows for one day per week remote work.

100% remote work, however, is not possible for this position. Advertised Salary The salary range for this position is $32,531.20 to $53,185.60.
