Job Description
Eastern Greene is looking for a Dean of Students (unlicensed administrator) or Assistant Principal (licensed administrator) for the 2024-2025 school year. We are open to an individual who is willing to work towards an administrative license and earn the title of Assistant Principal. Pay would increase significantly after the individual earns their administrative license. We encourage both licensed and unlicensed individuals to apply for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports daily managerial and operational tasks assigned by building principal and other administrative staff
- If licensed as an administrator, will help complete annual teacher evaluations
- Supervises student body throughout the school day and assists with after school activities/extracurricular supervision as directed
- In conjunction with building principal(s), investigates and addresses discipline issues reported by teachers and other staff members during the school day
- Provides support to students identified at risk of behavior problems to reduce the likelihood of out of school suspensions/expulsion
- Tracks student attendance and addresses truancy issues in collaboration with SRO and student support staff
- Tracks student academic progress to support students at risk of dropping out
- Facilitation of Random Student Drug Testing program grades 7-12
- Communication with parents regarding discipline issues and consequences
- Attends special education conferences as needed
- Supports teachers with development of effective classroom management strategies
- Works with staff and students in development and monitoring of Behavior Intervention Plans
- Assumes the responsibilities of the principal in his/her absence when designated to do so
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, push or pull heavy objects or materials up to 20 pounds
- Requires prolonged sitting, stooping, standing, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching
- Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- M.S. or M.A. Degree in Administration or Educational Leadership preferred
- Valid Indiana Administrator’s license preferred
- Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience
- Experience working with diverse populations and at-risk students
- Experience in student supervision and discipline
- Excellent leadership, communication, writing, and technology skills
- Demonstrates a high level of personal integrity and a strong work ethic
- Ability to build strong, long lasting relationships with students, staff, and community members
SALARY/BENEFITS
- If licensed as an administrator, pay will be commensurate with experience and education. A licensed administrator will be offered a two-year, 205 day contract
- If unlicensed, salary will be based on the master contract salary schedule plus additional salary due to working a 205 day contract. This salary may be adjusted to meet the expected pay for an unlicensed individual.
