Position Details

Position Description

The Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Washington (UW) is seeking a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor in Prosthodontics. The position is eligible for promotion; however, the position is not eligible for tenure. The appointment duration may range from one to 5 years, with no limit on the number of reappointments.

This position will be expected to engage in effective teaching and scholarship. The primary responsibility of this position is to teach in the pre-doctoral prosthodontics curriculum, which is a major discipline in the department’s curricula, encompassing one of the core competencies, and designed to provide a comprehensive educational experience throughout all four years for predoctoral students. The successful candidate will be expected to innovate and create a teaching model that incorporates diversity, equity, and inclusion. Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, strong interpersonal skills, accountability, leadership, and experience in digital dentistry workflow.

The Department of Restorative Dentistry includes the disciplines of Operative Dentistry, Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics, Implantology, Dental Materials Science, Dental Anatomy and Occlusion and the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics. Qualifications

The successful candidate must have earned a D.D.S./D.M.D. degree or foreign equivalent and have completed a CODA-accredited advanced education program in Prosthodontics and must be eligible to practice dentistry in the State of Washington.

Salary and Benefits

The base salary range for this position will be $129,000 - $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Up to one day per week (13 days per quarter) can be allocated to clinical practice, either in the UW Dentistry Faculty Practice, if available, or outside private practice, if requested, and approved by the UW.
