We are seeking a phenomenal, enthusiastic, and engaged Assistant Shop Supervisor to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our truck repair shop at 610 E Gish Rd in San Jose CA.
Position Summary:
GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Assistant Shop Supervisor to provide support to our truck repair shop in San Jose CA. This role’s main function will assist in overseeing daily work of shop mechanics and service personnel and learn the rules and regulations associated with the shop.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Help coordinate company fleet repair and ensures proper preventative maintenance scheduling for all vehicles
- Maintain database of maintenance and repair records for company vehicles and equipment
- Oversee and maintain shop inventory, orders parts, shop supplies, and equipment.
- Assist with the supervision of the preventative maintenance work
- Assist with employee training and coordinate required meetings
- Assisting management on daily tasks and special jobs
- Assist with implementation of changes.
- Assists with safety programs and procedures and due dates.
- Ability to learn and operate the current maintenance software for fleet parts and repair.
- Ensure the shop is clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Interact and co-operate with all members of the organization and its vendors.
- Assist with special projects on or off site.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work well with other employees in a team environment and communicate to ensure safety
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills.
- Ability to read, interpret and draft work order
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Qualifications:
- Valid Class C Driver’s License
- Ability to obtain a Heavy-Duty diesel emissions testing certification.
- Ability to obtain a Forklift/Boom certificate.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
