Job description Assistant Sales Manager
We are looking to grow our staff with dynamic individuals who love interacting with people and solving problems. We are hiring for full-time, long-term positions. If you are an outgoing person who loves helping others, we would love to meet, and see if we are a good fit for each other.
The Assistant Sales Manager performs a variety of duties related to customer satisfaction, sales, and customer service in compliance with company policies and procedures under the direction of the Sales Manager and Owners. They assist in the resolution of routine customer problems and any issues customers may have with the company, its products, or services.
The Assistant Sales Manager assists the Sales Manager in supporting the development and motivation of the sales team by combining effective communication skills with leadership qualities. Job duties include working the sales floor and directly assisting customers, and carrying out the implementation and coordination of promotional strategies via the sales associates.
The successful candidate will have previous retail experience with long-term experience achieving sales using consultative sale approach and a committed and flexible approach to work.
Industry knowledge is not required. We are happy to train you with all the product knowledge you will need. There are also many opportunities to train and learn about products and techniques with experts in the field.
Duties
The duties and responsibilities which the Assistant Sales Manager is expected to perform in carrying out their job are as follows:
- Ensure customers have a positive shopping experience through team member interaction and store presentation
- Communicate effectively and be an ambassador of company values to customers and team members
- Individual contributor that achieves a high level of direct sales performance
- Maintain knowledge of new products and research
- Coordinate and facilitate store merchandising
- Participate and contribute to leadership meetings

Below are specific abilities, knowledge, and skills required of the Assistant Sales Manager:
- 2+ years of retail sales experience
- A passion to work with customers, drive business success, and foster a positive company culture
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to interact with a wide variety of clientele. You will also need the patience and tact to handle customer complaints.
- Availability to work at any time of the day during store hours, which may include holidays and weekends
- Ability to build and maintain relationships and apply new skills
- Must be able to perform physical activities on the job, which include kneeling, lifting, bending, carrying, walking, climbing and/or reaching on a frequent basis
- Ability to be on your feet most of the day, or moving on the sales floor or stock room
