Description:

The AACSB-accredited College of Business Administration at Winthrop University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Management position to begin in August 2024. Winthrop University, located in the Charlotte, North Carolina metropolitan area, is a regional comprehensive state university. The successful candidate should demonstrate excellence in teaching, a strong commitment to student learning and development, the ability to establish an independent research program that leads to high-quality publications in peer-reviewed journals, and an interest in pursuing university service. This 9-month tenure-track faculty position with the rank of Assistant Professor requires a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Management (or closely related discipline) with a focus on Strategic management. ABDs will be considered and employed as instructor until completion of degree. The standard teaching load is three courses (9 credit hours) per semester. Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Management (or closely related field) with a primary focus on Strategic Management (ABDs will be considered as instructor until completion of degree)
  • Evidence of developing or existing research stream within Strategic Management
  • Evidence of effective teaching in strategic management
  • Evidence of ability to teach in leadership and/or human resource management
  • Candidate’s credentials across education, experience, and publication record must meet accreditation requirements
