We seek candidates with expertise in statistics, data science, or computational mathematics to support our new degree program, a Master of Science in computational and quantitative mathematics. We seek candidates with an active research agenda that includes the potential for the publication of research papers in peer-reviewed journals in mathematics/statistics/data science and submission of research grants to various funding agencies. Faculty of Lamar University are also expected to participate in service opportunities at the department, college, and university levels (e.g., advising students, serving as mentors to students, participating in committees). Prior evidence of service welcome. Finally, candidates will teach courses in the undergraduate curricula in mathematics and along with teaching master’s courses in statistics, data analysis, quantitative methods, and computational methods in support of our new MS degree.

- Actively participate in academic service at the department, college, and university levels.

Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift 25 lbs and be able to perform a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing and walking between buildings.
