The Norwich Campus of SUNY Morrisville has been serving the Norwich community and the surrounding areas for more than 46 years, offering students associate degree options such as Criminal Justice, Computer Information Technology, and Nursing. Salary Range: $60,000+, dependent on qualifications.
Duration: Academic Year (this position follows the 10-month academic schedule)
Brief Description of Duties:
SUNY Morrisville's Computer and Information Technology Department seeks qualified candidates to apply for a tenure-track position. The position will start in August 2024. This full-time appointment focuses on Game Programming at the undergraduate level. There will be limited capacity for research, but program expansion and curriculum development are expected from the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative team member of the Computer and Information Technology department, eager to support the development of the next generation of Game Programming professionals.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Classroom Instruction
The primary responsibility for this position is teaching a full course load of undergraduate courses (15-17 contact hours per semester). This includes courses such as:
- Game programming
- Game design and development
- 3D modeling
- Game engine development
- VR/AR game development
Most courses have a structure with 2 lecture hours and 2 lab hours each week to support the applied education method that SUNY Morrisville is renowned for.
Curriculum & Campus Development
- Faculty members have an expectation of service to the campus community through committees, program review and assessment, and activities such as student club advising.
Student Mentorship
- Provide guidance and support to students throughout their educational journey, including recruiting students to join our program, academic advising & retention, career counseling, supervision of student interns, and advising student clubs.
- Foster a student-centered approach that emphasizes individual growth and prepares students for success after graduation.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Game Design/Development, or closely related area; OR a Master's Degree with relevant experience.
- Practical experience in Game Programming/game development/game design/simulations
- Programming experience for games/simulations with languages such as C# or C++
- Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal
- Evidence of and/or potential for successful, high-quality teaching.
