Form of workThe Department of Anesthesiology at The Medical College of Wisconsin is searching for an anesthesiologist to be part of its growing community practice in West Bend, Wisconsin at the Froedtert West Bend Hospital. Anesthesiologists and anesthetists at West Bend administered over 9,000 anesthetics this past year and expect to increase the number of anesthetics delivered as patients are referred her from other sites in our healthcare network. The anesthesia clinicians, which includes Anesthesiologists, Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants, and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, provide anesthesia in both care team and personally performed care models. Minimum qualifications include ABA certification or eligibility and a Wisconsin Medical License.

Since 1965 when we established ourselves as an independent Department, we have experienced dramatic clinical, scientific, and academic growth; and throughout the years have consistently been recognized by our peers in the Medical College of Wisconsin and its affiliated hospitals for our leadership and innovation. We are constantly growing and adapting to meet the needs of our patients and our communities. Our faculty team currently includes 166 Anesthesiologists, 38 Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants, four mental-health specialists and 12 scientists dedicated exclusively to research.
The faculty provides more than 63,000 anesthetics annually in more than 100 anesthetizing locations on any given day, considering all affiliate hospitals, operating rooms, and out-of-the-OR locations. Our team provides exemplary patient care through the consistent delivery of evidence-based, patient-centered medicine; education of both residents and advanced practice professionals; and the pursuit of research interests that will define novel therapies in a dynamic and growing academic environment.
Patient Care
Froedtert West Bend Hospital, founded in 1930 by local doctors, community leaders and the Sisters of the Divine Savior, is a full-service hospital serving residents of Washington County and beyond. Originally named St. Joseph’s Hospital, the hospital specializes in emergency care, cancer care, birthing services, orthopedics, surgical services and women’s health. It is part of the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network, which includes 10 hospital locations, more than 2,100 physicians and more than 45 health centers and clinics, draws patients from throughout the Midwest and the nation. In our most recent fiscal year, outpatient visits were more than 1.7 million, inpatient admissions to our hospitals exceeded 58,000 and visits to our network physicians totaled more than 1.17 million.

Located along the Lake Michigan shoreline, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is one of America’s great cities, combining a dynamic urban community with a rich cultural heritage with access to parks, rivers, and other outdoor recreation. Milwaukee is the largest city in Wisconsin and the 23rd largest city in the United States. It is home to corporate headquarters for industry leaders including Northwestern Mutual, Johnson Controls, Manpower, Harley Davidson, and others. Milwaukee is a popular venue for sailing, windsurfing, kite-surfing, ethnic dining, and cultural festivals; the city is recognized for its museums, fine dining and hotels, professional sports, gardens and parks, and Milwaukee County Zoological Gardens. The population of the City of Milwaukee is approximately 600,000 and approximately 1.8 million people live in the greater Milwaukee area.
West Bend is a community of more than 31,000, located about 30 miles north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the picturesque hills of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. The city was incorporated in 1885 and has been the home of many major businesses, including West Bend Mutual Insurance Company and The West Bend Aluminum Company, which became the West Bend Company. Known for its high quality of life, West Bend is home to some of the region’s best museums, historic downtown, outdoor attractions, shops, parks and more. The West Bend School District is currently the 24th largest school district—of 421—in the state of Wisconsin. The city is also the Geocaching Capital of the Midwest™ and geocachers from around the world come to West Bend to enjoy this activity.
