Position Summary: Mount Mary University is seeking an individual to join our community and contribute to the realization of our Mission as a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychological Science, August 2024-May 2025. We are a community of faculty who value relationships with our students and colleagues, and we are committed to a compassionate, inclusive, and effective undergraduate education that is deeply rooted in social justice.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach 12 credits per semester of undergraduate courses including but not limited to Introductory Psychology, Introduction to Research Methods, plus either Developmental Psychology, Psychological Disorders and Mental Health, and/or a course in the candidate's area of expertise
- Teach primarily in-person classes, with occasional hybrid and/or online classes possible
- Opportunity to engage in service to the Psychological Science program and the University
Qualifications:
- Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) or ABD in Psychology or a closely related field
- Commitment to quality teaching in the liberal arts and to the social justice mission of the university
- Experience teaching diverse learners using inclusive practices is strongly preferred
