Manpower of Waynesboro is seeking an Assistant Production Manager. The APM will assist the General Manager in managing the production operations. This includes managing workflow, machine operations, processes, quality, inventory, warehouse, safety, shipping, and reporting pertaining to production operations. Responsible for managing and directing production staff and working with Plant Mgr. to manage daily production to meet customer requirements and stock orders. Be escalation point for equipment and production issues and provide solutions or further escalation if required to General Mgr. or COO. Will aid in driving improvements in CI, and 5S implementation in the plant. Any direction or responsibility assigned or asked by your direct report to or other senior management.Job Responsibilities:•Production Operations – Management including – organizing daily workflow for production and warehouse, •Drive SOP’s and KPI’s throughout the plant by setting productivity goals, developing and maintain workflow policies and procedures•Identify opportunities and implement solutions for improved productivity and cost savings. •Coordinate maintenance of equipment to maintain efficiency and reduce downtime•Provide metric based accomplishments of the AOP and key initiatives for plant •Supervise and evaluate performance of production and warehouse leaders•Maintain employee training program and records•Communicate equipment and supply needs to General Mgr.•Report weekly and monthly production, inventory, staffing, and quality reports as directed concerning operations performance, KPI’s and other key operational items requested•Other duties as required or requested by leadershipKey Goals to Measure Performance of Operations Dir Position:•CI and Lean Initiatives of AOP or identified•On time shipping of monthly requirements•Downtime of equipment minimized with preventive maintenance and internal/ external service •Output goals for processes as established •Establish SOP’s for production operations•Implement KPI’s for production staff and their processes•Lead and establish safety program and goals – minimizing time loss•Savings and elimination of waste / inefficiencies •Any other key KPI’s or initiatives identified by leadershipMinimum Qualifications:•High School Diploma/ Associate Degree•4 plus years of Supervisory Experience •Knowledge of operation processes including CI and 5S•Managing or supervising plant production and operations•Understand Takt time and standard work•SOP and KPI’s•Warehouse management or supervision – bin management•Material flow•Level scheduling•Good communication skills•Good aptitude with engineering and machines as some maintenance/repair may be required•General maintenance abilities•MS Office – Excel Pivots, Power PointPhysical Requirements:•Precise hand/eye coordination•Basic keyboarding or other repetitive motions•Operation of heavy equipment or operation of vehicles•Lifting/pushing objects weighing over 10 lbs•Climbing and working in awkward and cramped positionsPay will begin at $65,000 per year and may increase depending on experience. This is not a contract or temp to hire position. The successful candidate will be hired directly by our client.
