Reporting to the Plant Director, you will play a crucial role in overseeing department operations, contributing to strategic development, and providing functional guidance to supervisors. The individual in this position will have a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with the Director for the Plant, contributing to the strategic vision and operational excellence of the facility. Working in tandem with the director, this role entails a hands-on involvement in various aspects of plant management, providing a comprehensive understanding of the organization's goals and processes. Moreover, this position carries the significant prospect of officially transitioning into the lead management role for the plant in May 2025, contingent upon the individual's demonstration of strong performance. This transition underscores the value placed on the incumbent's contributions and signifies a pivotal step in their professional growth within the organization. As a pivotal player in the plant's leadership, the individual will be entrusted with key responsibilities, shaping the trajectory of the plant's success and contributing to its long-term objectives.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Direct all operations and production activities in alignment with the business plan of Global Supply Chain and the strategic objectives of the Company and its business units.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to establish strategic goals and vision for the site, as well as short- and long-term production objectives.
  • Manage the overall production plan, overseeing day-to-day operations and implementation.
  • Work with functional area managers to determine material, space, equipment, and personnel requirements. Develop and implement processes, procedures, assignments, and execute functional responsibilities within budget constraints.
  • Evaluate performance against production goals and adjust resource allocations (personnel, equipment, materials) to optimize quality, quantity, market share, service quality, and operational cost-efficiency.
  • Initiate engineering projects and new product launches.
  • Lead Lean Improvement projects and act as the liaison between Lean Improvement personnel and their respective groups.
  • Manage direct reports, assign work, provide coaching and training, set goals, conduct performance evaluations, plan staff development, and make people management decisions in collaboration with management and HR.

 Minimum Required Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Technical and/or Finance discipline strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant manufacturing work experience.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, delivering results with minimal guidance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying MS Excel and other analysis tools to real-world problem-solving.
  • Flexibility, innovation, and comfort in setting priorities.
  • Good understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.

Preferred Skills /Experience:

  • Green Belt Certification preferred, and an MBA is highly desired.
