Duties & ResponsibilitiesDuties and Responsibilities:
- Teach lecture-based courses and develop online curriculum at the undergraduate level to support the College of Engineering Minor in Microelectronics Manufacturing. Instruction of graduate level courses covering aspects of semiconductor manufacturing may also be required. (lecture courses are 3 units each and meet for 3 hours each week) and/or laboratory courses that are 1 unit but meet 3 hours a week.
- Prepare and use course and classroom instructional materials and when applicable use evidence-based practices which may include peer instruction, active learning, team teaching, and other methods.
- Hold regular office hours to respond to the needs of undergraduate students and teaching assistants.
- Serve on department committees as appropriate.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or related field.
- 5 years or more of industrial experience.
- Experience with analytical equipment used in the micro/nano fab cleanroom facility and the MSE Department. Instruments may include: Scanning electron microscope (SEM), Atomic Force Microscope(AFM), Fourier Transform Infra-red Spectroscopy (FTIR), Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectroscopy (ICP-MS), and/or Gas Chromatography (GC).
- Experience in teaching unit operations desired.
