Job description

Oregon Institute of Technology is conducting a search for a full-time, tenure-track, 12-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Position Summary:
The successful incumbent will support the MS-ABA, BS-Applied Psychology, and ABA clinic programs. Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, providing clinical supervision of students and other duties at the BIG ABA clinic. Applied research and excellence in instruction are expected of tenure track faculty at Oregon Tech. Service to the department, institution, and community are also highly valued.
The position reports to the Chair of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. The Director of the Behavior Improvement Group Applied Behavior Analysis (BIG ABA) clinic is responsible for assignment and evaluation of clinic-related activities.
Qualified candidates will have a doctoral degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis or related field from an accredited college or university and Board Certification in Behavior Analysis. Qualified candidates should demonstrate the ability to teach a broad range of classes that support our current curriculum. Oregon Tech offers competitive salaries and an excellent benefits package. Salary is commensurate with experience.
The MS in Applied Behavior Analysis and BS in Applied Psychology programs are housed within the Humanities and Social Sciences department, a dynamic and growing department with a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. Oregon Tech’s primary mission is teaching and our Applied Psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis programs have a strong practical component. Candidates must be student-oriented and able to teach smaller seminar and lab classes with a hands-on emphasis, as well as larger lecture classes.

Departmental Information:
The Humanities and Social Sciences department offers undergraduate degrees in Applied Psychology and Population Health Management, minors in ALPs, Medical Sociology, and Psychology, undergraduate and graduate ABA course sequences, Master’s degrees in Applied Behavior Analysis and Marriage and Family Therapy, and a diverse collection of courses in support of Oregon Tech’s general education mission. All our programs work closely with community partners to provide applied learning experiences for our students. We are committed to our role in enabling students to develop intellectual curiosity, critical thinking skills, global knowledge, and ethical and cultural awareness.
Oregon Tech’s ABA programs include an undergraduate course sequence, a Graduate Certificate and Oregon’s first MS-ABA. The MS-ABA curriculum focuses on providing a rigorous and thorough foundation in the science of behavior analysis. Students will be prepared to apply the principles of behavior analysis with diverse populations and in a wide variety of settings. Oregon Tech’s experienced and highly qualified ABA faculty offer courses on the Klamath Falls and to students everywhere via Zoom (a synchronous videoconferencing program). Klamath Falls students work in the Behavior Improvement Group (BIG) ABA Clinic at Oregon Tech, a University-affiliated regional clinic providing EIBI, behavior reduction, and social skills to local children. Additionally, students may work as behavioral consultants in the local school district with children PreK to 12th grade with a variety of diagnoses. We are seeking a candidate who can work with our ABA team in Klamath Falls to expand the role of Oregon Tech as a key provider of ABA education and services in our state.
