This position is for the main campus in sunny Klamath Falls, Oregon located in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains in southern Oregon. Klamath Falls is widely recognized for its remarkable mountain and lake scenery, including Crater Lake National Park and year-round outdoor recreation opportunities.
This is an 11-month, tenure track position. Rank will be determined based on experience. The major duties of the position are teaching in-person and online; advising students; developing and participating in applied research; contributing to department goals and objectives; and collaboration on CODA accreditation and curriculum review activities. Teaching assignments will primarily include didactic, preclinical, clinical and laboratory teaching for the Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene degree.
As a tenure track faculty member, expectations include collaboration with others, pursuing professional development, establishing and participating in applied research and scholarly opportunities, engaging in community outreach and service-learning projects, and taking part in departmental and university service. This position may eventually offer the potential for leadership and advancement within the department for the right candidate. - Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from a CODA accredited program
- Master’s degree in dental hygiene, education, public health, allied health, or related field
- Current license as a dental hygienist and ability to acquire OR licensure, local anesthesia and nitrous oxide permits
- Teaching experience
- Experience with mixed teaching modalities
- Five+ years experience teaching didactic and clinical dental hygiene
- Previous administrative leadership experience in higher education including responsibility/experience with accreditation reporting
- Doctoral degree in related field
- Restorative endorsement for Oregon
- Eligible for Expanded Practice Dental Hygiene Permit in Oregon
- ADHA membership
