Assistant Manager, Education & Audience Engagement

The Assistant Manager, Education & Audience Engagement is responsible for supporting all national and local Educational programs. This includes direct contact with partner schools and organizations, generating content for publications, developing curriculum, and contributing to the development of new programs and assessment of those efforts. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Education, Access, and Inclusion.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Senior Manager to manage the flagship education program, Disney Musicals in Schools:
    • Oversee DTG’s self-managed NYC Disney Musicals in Schools program.
    • Support 60 program managers and directors at 22 domestic and international Disney Musicals in Schools affiliate programs through their administration and development of the program.
    • Develop and maintain authentic relationships with an expanding national network of partner presenters, children’s theaters, and regional theaters.
    • Maintain quality of programming through reporting, regular conference calls, and visits to affiliate organizations.
    • Travel to new and alumni affiliate organizations for trainings and check ins.
    • Administer the pilot and eventual roll out of StageConnect, an online professional development tool for teachers
    • Observe and review teaching artist faculty in partnership with department staff.
    • Plan and facilitate Teaching Artist trainings in collaboration with department staff.
  • Partner with department staff to write curriculum for licensing support materials such as ShowKits for Disney KIDS and JR. titles and Production Handbooks for full-length titles.
  • Partner with department staff to generate content for education publications, including enrichment materials for Broadway productions.
  • Partner with department staff and HR to support Disney Theatrical Group’s Career Readiness initiatives including summer internships, local partnerships, and career readiness workshops.
  • Represent department at conferences, facilitating sessions related to arts-education policy and administration.
  • Partner with department head and Senior Manager on new initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Keen attention to detail and project management skills.
  • A collaborative spirit and capacity for building and maintaining positive partnerships.
  • A proactive nature, and ability to deliver quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • 2+ years’ experience in the field of arts education and/or arts administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education and/or Theater a plus.

The hiring range for this position in NY is $63,300.00 to $81,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
