Job Description
We are seeking an Assistant Executive Director to join Anchorage Fur Rendezvous, North America’s premier winter festival. Responsible for collaboration with the Fur Rendezvous Executive Director (ED) to sustain, promote and grow the organization by positive outreach, understanding all aspects of the ED position, committees, events, board structure, and the strategic plan implementation as approved by the Board of Directors. In support of the festival, keeps detailed documentation of duties, events, plans, and collaborates across the organization while assisting the ED in supporting the festival event chairs, marketing and promotion of the festival, merchandise/retail customer service, accounting, safety and security, permitting, and registration aspects of specific events for event/organizational success. Should have critical skill sets in verbal and writing communication, organization, project planning, positive staff leadership, and have a valid AK Driver’s License. Should be creative, enthusiastic, flexible, over 18 years of age, a commitment to the mission of the organization. Typical computer software programs used are Microsoft Office (ie: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe)
Permanent, part time seasonal, hourly position (25 – 40+ hours per week) with schedule flexing with demands up and through Fur Rendezvous $24.00 - $26.00/ Hour (variable up to 40 Hours / week with overtime during festival) Seeking Alaska residents only. Position is one that is needed as soon as possible (January 2) until end of April. Typically, the position would start work in September ramping up through the festival until late April.
