Job Description
Education: High School diploma or equivalent in education and training.
Licensure: No specific license is needed but certifications in environmental services or facility management, Life Safety Code, and NFPA standards are preferred.
Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience in environmental services or maintenance in a supervisory capacity. Experience in healthcare or multifamily settings is advantageous.
Skills: Facility and equipment maintenance, staff management, basic computer skills, and customer service skills.
Transportation: Ability to ensure timely arrival and stable transportation.
Schedules and oversees scheduling of all environmental services teammates.
Maintains property and plant in compliance with state, federal, local, and facility policies.
Counsels and trains workers in housekeeping, and customer service skills.
Conducts regular rounds of facilities to assure quality control and safety, health, and welfare of residents, teammates, and guests.
Oversees environmental services budget on a monthly basis and handles all ordering of necessary products.
Promote and maintain community-wide security.
Promote and maintain community safety training as well as safety materials and handbooks.
Recognize and respond to maintenance, housekeeping, and security emergencies.
Respond to resident or family concerns.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for necessary repairs.
Participates in ongoing training and in-services for improving knowledge and updating skills.
Performs other assigned tasks as requested and in accordance with policies and procedures.
Establish and encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth, and interest in residents’ activity preferences and needs.
