OU Athletics Marketing is seeking a driven and creative individual to advance the mission and values of the OU Athletics Department by overseeing the marketing efforts of Wrestling, Baseball, and other sport(s) as assigned. This position will also oversee the coordination, planning and execution of special Event Marketing efforts &/or special marketing projects. Additionally, the individual in this position will oversee the Marketing Internship Program with the planning and execution of marketing select sports for the Oklahoma Athletics Department.
Essential Functions:
Marketing and Game Presentation:
- Develop and implement marketing, promotions, and game production plans to increase ticket sales, game attendance and fan experience elements for the following sports:
- Wrestling, Baseball, and other sport(s) as assigned
- Intern/GA oversight for other sport(s) as assigned based on departmental staffing needs
- Coordination of collateral production for designated sports with Athletics Graphic Design as a part of each programs marketing and promotions plan
- Wrestling, Baseball, and other sport(s) as assigned
- Assist the Associate Athletics Director and marketing staff with the planning, coordination and implementation of all football game day activities and promotions including but not limited to:
- Team Arrival (Walk of Champions)
- FanFest tailgate area (Party at the Palace)
- Public Address
- SoonerVision
- In-game promotions and giveaways
- In-venue presentations sponsored by the University and/or the Athletics Department
- Marching Band performances
- Spirit - Cheerleaders, Pom Squad and Mascots
- All other game day related activities
- Oversee game entertainment for wrestling and baseball bringing new and fresh elements to customer relations and the in-game fan experience
- Identify creative and innovative programs that engage both existing and potential fans, resulting in an entertaining atmosphere and that encourages spectator loyalty and support
- Assist tournament and meet directors in developing specific promotional support related to special events hosted by The University of Oklahoma (i.e. Big 12 Tournaments, NCAA Championships, etc.)
- Assist with marketing special projects and events to help grow and develop the fanbase regionally and nationally as well as keep alumni and letterwinners connected to the OU brand
Fan and Student Engagement:
- Identify creative and innovative programs that engage the student body and encourage participation at all athletic events
- Further enhance and cultivate relationships on-campus, resulting in student, faculty, and staff support
- Coordinate OU Athletics involvement and integration into campus events (orientation week, homecoming, etc) to promote programs
Advertising:
- Assist in the execution, scheduling, creative development, and relationship management of assigned advertising avenues
Administration:
- Assist with sponsorship fulfillment responsibilities related to Sooner Sports Properties (Learfield Property) and other third-party agreements
- Assist with ticket sales campaign coordination related to IMG/Learfield Ticket Solutions and other third-party agreements for all sports
- Oversee the marketing internship program and staff of 15+ undergraduate students who help us with office hours and event execution
- Oversight of hiring all interns
- Creation and oversight of intern schedule and training
- Construction of career development opportunities for all interns
- Maintain knowledge of the rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and The University of Oklahoma
- Know, understand, and reinforce commitment to NCAA and Big 12 rules, and report violations or suspected violations to the Athletics Compliance Department
- Perform other related duties as requested
- Reports to Associate Athletics Director, Strategic Marketing & Fan Engagement
Job Requirements
Required Education: Bachelor's degree Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or related field.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the bachelor's degree.

- Must be able to stand, engage in repetitive motions, walk, communicate, hear and see, including color, depth perception and clarity
- Ability to occasionally lift 30-50 pounds
- Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods
Departmental Preferences:
- Experience in working with the public-school systems, collegiate student-athletes and other non-profit organizations.
- 2-5 years' work experience related to Marketing fields, Live Entertainment, Sports
- High ability and comfort level with public speaking and/or speaking in front of large crowds during community appearances and school assemblies
Supervision: Marketing student internship program
