Position Summary: The newly established Entrepreneur Lab at the College of Western Idaho (CWI) is dedicated to facilitating the practical application of classroom learning for students. As a pivotal initiative within CWI, the Entrepreneur Lab offers comprehensive support to students embarking on entrepreneurial endeavors, ranging from foundational exploration to advanced business development.The Assistant Director of Entrepreneur Lab plays a vital role in supporting the Director in the planning, development, and execution of programs and initiatives aimed at fostering entrepreneurship within CWI. This position requires a dynamic individual with strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, as well as a passion for nurturing innovation and supporting aspiring entrepreneurs.
Essential Functions: - Collaborate with the Director to design and implement programs and initiatives that support entrepreneurship education, innovation, and venture creation.- Assist in the development of curricula, workshops, and events tailored to the needs of aspiring entrepreneurs, startups, and small business owners.
- Coordinate with faculty, staff, industry partners, and community organizations to identify resources, mentorship opportunities, and networking events for program participants.
- Lead all logistics for both short-term and long-term programs.
- Present at meetings and events on campus (virtual and in-person)
- Management of Entrepreneur Lab physical space
- Facilitate hands-on experiences, delivering practical knowledge, and creating opportunities for real-world engagement.
- Support students in navigating the entrepreneurial landscape, from ideation to investment readiness.
- Provide one-on-one advising and coaching to students seeking assistance with business development, marketing strategies, financial planning, and other aspects of entrepreneurship.
- Organize student competitions, hackathons, and other entrepreneurial events to showcase student innovation and foster a culture of entrepreneurship.
- Manage and maintain all elements of Mission43 partnership.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local and regional entrepreneurial ecosystems, industry partners, and community organizations.
- Lead all marketing strategies and actions through partnering with CWI's marketing department.
- Management of Entrepreneur Lab budget and all financial elements
Minimum Qualifications: - 5 years of experience working within an accelerator, incubator, or entrepreneur education organization.- Self-starter who can work independently to create new elements of the Entrepreneur Lab program.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students from all over the campus of CWI.
- Skilled at both accomplishing behind-the-scenes tasks and being comfortable communicating in person in front of small groups and one-on-one.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, budgets, staff, and resources effectively.
- Familiarity with technology transfer, intellectual property, and commercialization processes preferred.
