Job Summary/Basic Function:This position will be responsible for the fulfilling Live Video Production needs of the External Department within athletics across all sporting events. Under the guidance of the department head, this position will manage and oversee event streams and digital technology for sports events.
Level Scope:Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.
Essential Functions:60% of Time the Live Video Production Coordinator must:
- Work as Director/Producer for Mountain West Network Broadcasts
- Manage production shoots, including digital media for distribution of content in various formats for broadcast, web and mobile platforms utilizing both cinematic camcorders and shoulder mount ENG cameras for highlight shooting, storytelling shots and general content gathering.
- Act as technical support for press conferences.
- Assist in archiving of broadcast footage through proper labeling.
- Work with Bronco Sports Properties to integrate sponsor elements within live broadcasts.
- Create video initiatives that assist in recruiting fans and players to follow any and all athletic social media content that is produced.
- Edit pre-production content to enhance the live broadcasts.
- Assist the Director of Live Production in setup/tear down of broadcast equipment
35% of Time the Live Video Production Coordinator must:
- Assist post-production crew for specialty shoots.
- Act as sport contact for to be determined sport, and help oversee their digital content.
- Assist in any on-campus media days.
- Assist in NIL opportunities for student athletes.
5% of Time
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of various live production technologies, including broadcast cameras, Newtek products, and other industry-standard live production equipment.
- Knowledge of computer/server components, both internal and external, and how they work in a controlled network setting.
- Ability to work on a broadcast truck in a variety of positions, from director/producer to replay and camera operation.
- Understand specific software used for the purpose of filming, digitizing, editing and overall manipulation of both practice and game film for the purpose of coaches' study.
- This position shall have a knowledge and understanding of all NCAA and conference rules and regulations regarding compliance issues and film trade.
- Strong people skills in order to staff, organize and provide support to coworkers to communicate and work as an effective team during practice and games with an emphasis on being proper ambassadors both home and away from the university.
- Bachelor's Degree and 2 years experience or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) to three (3) years of Live Production experience
- One (1) to three (3) years covering live production of college athletics
- Experience covering multiple sports (including non-revenue generating sports like soccer, volleyball, gymnastics, etc.)
- Adobe Suite Proficiency
